Arifa’s Taste is a Bengali catering business serving the Washington, DC, Maryland, & Northern Virginia metropolitan region. When Arifa launched in 2024, her cooking already had an enthusiastic audience among family, friends, and community members. What she needed was a way to present that expertise publicly, communicate her offerings, and help prospective customers take the next step.
Taz led the development of the business’s website and supported its brand positioning, social content, and platform use. Her approach gave Arifa space to focus on cooking while building the tools and confidence to represent her business online. Our integrated methodologies streamline multifaceted workflows, enabling organizations to deploy resources efficiently and capture emerging opportunities.
The Challenge
While Arifa had a strong product and existing demand, she was limited in experience with digital marketing and business development. She needed a way to communicate her package her services, communicate her offerings, and build an audience beyond her personal network. However, building a website, creating content, and managing social platforms were unfamiliar responsibilities that felt daunting and overwhelming. Arifa was happy to prepare and fulfill orders, but she didn’t know where to start.
The Approach
-
Taz shaped the brand around what customers already valued: culturally rooted Bengali cooking, personal care, and food they returned for. That direction informed the website’s messaging and the way the business presented its food across social platforms.
Arifa’s story as an immigrant mother and grandmother who kept her children close to the culture through food gave the brand a personal foundation that resonated with her target demographic while giving her a positioning that goes beyond good food; that authentic, home-cooked, Bengali cooking just like mom used to make can be accessible for your big events and weekly dinners.
-
Taz handled the entire development of Arifa’s Taste’s website - from copywriting, page layouts, navigation, food photography, menu presentations, calls to actions, and customer testimonials.
The website serves as a centralized location for the business, bringing Arifa’s Taste’s story, offerings, and customer feedback into one place. People who discover Arifa through social media or word of mouth have a destination to explore her cooking and learn how to inquire.
Taz helped establish packages around order types, build a menu that was both informative and flexible, create a narrative around the experience of eating Arifa’s cooking, and showcase a clear path for how customers could order from Arifa’s Taste.
She continues to manage website maintenance, updates, and further development as the business grows. Recently, per the request of Arifa’s growing LIVE audience on TikTok, Taz added a Virtual Cookbook of recipes.
-
Taz established Arifa’s Taste’s presence across Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook to broaden its reach and connect with new audiences. With little prior knowledge of how to use social media, Arifa initially was overwhelmed, camera shy, and confused on how to navigate the many features across platforms to grow an online community. She relied heavily on Taz to manage photography/videography, content creation, editing, and publishing.
Taz’s philosophy goes beyond producing deliverables for her clients. She believes in equipping the founders she works with to connect with their online community themselves, because true growth is built through authenticity.
Through hands-on coaching, platform guidance, and ongoing encouragement, Arifa learned each platform’s mechanics and grew increasingly comfortable on camera. Today, Arifa posts weekly, edits videos, writes captions, and engages directly with a combined community of nearly 2,000 followers across the three platforms. She continues to experiment with new formats and build her skills each month.
As Arifa takes greater ownership of day-to-day content, Taz continues to photograph and film her work, edit videos, and publish posts alongside her. This shared approach gives Taz more space to review monthly performance metrics and refine the strategy around audience feedback, emerging opportunities, and the content Arifa can confidently create.
-
Taz built Arifa’s content strategy around her existing skills, routines, and relationships. Cooking demonstrations, finished dishes, and behind-the-scenes preparation showcase her culinary expertise, while glimpses of her life as a Bengali mother, grandmother, wife and sister help audiences connect with the person behind the food. Together, the food and lifestyle content communicate the culture, care, and personality that shape Arifa’s Taste.
Through hands-on guidance, Taz helped Arifa recognize everyday moments as stories worth sharing. Preparing a family meal, spending time with loved ones, or trying a cooking technique could become content without requiring a separate performance for the camera. This gave Arifa an approach she could sustain and feel comfortable making her own.
Each platform plays a distinct role: TikTok is where Arifa is building her strongest community; Instagram helps her deepen local connections through her personal network, mutual contacts, and people she meets in person. Facebook carries connected Instagram content, while Marketplace has provided an additional route to new clients. Across these channels, the strategy builds on who Arifa already is, helping her share that story with wider audiences.
Taz’s support includes promotional graphics, social profile messaging, Instagram Highlights, and guidance on Stories, feed posts, and video.
-
After a year into the business, Taz encouraged Arifa to bring her cooking to a LIVE audience through her growing TikTok community. This created a space where viewers could watch the process, ask questions, and connect with the person behind the food in real time, supporting further growth across her platforms, while also building Arifa’s credibility.
During supported broadcasts, Taz handles filming and engages with the LIVE audience, allowing Arifa to focus on cooking while remaining part of the conversation. The broadcasts also provide material for future content: Taz identifies compelling moments to repurpose into standalone videos, extending their reach beyond the original LIVE.
The LIVEs have become a gathering place for returning viewers, many of whom affectionately call her “Arifa Aunty.” They ask about her cooking and services, encourage her to grow the business, and learn about Bengali culture through the food and conversations she shares. Their interest recently inspired Arifa’s Virtual Cookbook on her website, making her recipes accessible to people too far away to place an order. This audience feedback is helping shape new ways for Arifa’s Taste to share its expertise and serve its growing community.
Strategy in Practice: The Biryani Reveal
During a TikTok LIVE, Arifa prepared to reveal biryani cooked using a method she was trying for the first time. Taz operated the camera and engaged with viewers throughout the broadcast, allowing Arifa to concentrate on the food.
Taz recognized the reveal as a moment that could work beyond the original LIVE. She selected the clip for Instagram, wrote the caption, and published it as a reel. The first-attempt context created anticipation, while the reveal provided a clear visual payoff.
The Instagram reel generated:

The example demonstrates Taz’s ability to recognize a compelling content angle, repurpose existing footage, and extend a founder’s work across platforms.
Taz’s Philosophy:
Support the Founder Behind the Brand
Taz’s approach extends beyond producing deliverables. She helps founders translate their vision into a presence that reaches the right audiences, with guidance and practical support that make growth manageable.
For Arifa’s Taste, this meant building a website that clearly presented the business, creating photography and promotional content that showcased the food, and establishing a presence across social media for a founder who was previously unfamiliar and overwhelmed by content creation.
By building a foundation, providing education along with deliverables, performance metrics analysis, and continuous coaching along the way, Taz helped Arifa become increasingly comfortable sharing her expertise and connecting with her growing community.
Today, Arifa edits videos, writes captions, publishes weekly, and engages with her audience herself, alongside Taz’s continued production and strategic support. That growing independence reflects a central part of Taz’s work: helping founders recognize the value of their expertise and develop the skills to confidently bring it to market.
The Impact
With Taz’s support in building and maintaining its digital presence, Arifa’s Taste has grown from informal community demand into an established catering business. Arifa has fulfilled more than 200 orders while continuing to work full-time as a banker, demonstrating what a founder can build with focused support around an existing skill.
Taz continues to create content, maintain the website, and prepare monthly performance reports to guide the next round of decisions. Audience questions and feedback also inform the brand’s development.
Together, this work has created an ongoing relationship between content, community, and the business. Arifa has greater confidence and ownership, while Taz provides the creative execution and strategic direction to keep that presence developing.
Using Strong Brand Narratives to Empower Businesses
Taz brings strategic thinking and hands-on execution to every client and business she works with. She identifies compelling stories, translates expertise into clear messaging, and produces content across video, social media, copy and websites. Her work with Arifa’s Taste demonstrates her ability to take ownership, collaborate closely with a founder, and use audience feedback to guide what comes next.
She brings that same approach to teams: thoughtful creative decisions, clear communication, and the initiative to move work from an idea to a published asset. For teams seeking support in content strategy, copywriting, or personal-brand development, Taz welcomes a conversation about how she can contribute.
